ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Oil Babies is your one stop shop for all things natural and essential for pregnancy, birth and parenting. Carefully sourced for moms by moms, we promise to bring you the best, with a focus on women owned businesses and holistic wellness.
Holly Lo, founder of Oil Babies, came to Wade Robinson Design for help with Identity Design and Logo Design. Over time, we have helped design everything from a 20’ x 20’ exhibit booth, to over 20 product labels. We helped produce 2 books for publication and more.
IDENTITY DESIGN + LOGO DESIGN:
We knew that Oil Babies’ target audience was almost exclusively composed of women with families and children. Therefore, the Identity was targeted toward this audience.
We wanted to stick to more rounded or organic shapes as they are associated with: Softness, Kindness, Warmth, Caring, Fun, Freshness, Friendliness and Innovation.
The colour palette chosen, reflecting the rounded and organic shapes of the logo. (Softness, Kindness, Warmth, Caring, Fun, Freshness, Friendliness and Innovation.) The colours were to appeal to moms overall, with both boys and girls being represented.
A large part of Holly’s business revolved around Essential Oils - thus the name Oil Babies was born. We ended up doing something we rarely do - we added a logomark within the wording of the logo. The benefit of this is that the Identity package was simplified even more. There would only be the need for a main logo and a logomark.
To cap the logo off, we added a heart inside the logomark to represent the caring aspect of Oil Babies, this being paramount to their Brand Foundation.
